Description
One of the animals I had always dreamed of photographing is the bald eagle. In six years of visiting Florida, I had never actually seen one in the wild. But 2025 was different. After exploring several new areas and putting in hours of hiking and scouting, I finally located a family of eagles. The moment I had been hoping for arrived when I spotted both the male and female perched high in a dead pine. Luckily, they stayed there just long enough for me to get my telephoto setup locked in and capture a few clean shots.
I am constantly amazed by how stoic and commanding eagles look in person. Perched upright against the open blue sky, with the crisp white plumage of its head cutting sharply against the rich, dark brown feathers of its mantle, it creates an unforgettable natural contrast.
